Blackberry Iced Tea

This recipe was inspired from an old magazine clipping, so I'm not sure of the source. It's a wonderful way to enjoy the last of the fresh summer blackberries, which give a subtle flavor to the black tea used in this recipe. You can leave the tea unsweetened or sweeten it with honey, sugar, or your favorite sweetener. Enjoy a glass on your cottage porch or patio on a warm summer afternoon or evening!

BLACKBERRY ICED TEA by Cottage Flavor
Makes 3 to 4 servings
  • 4 cups hot black tea (I used English Breakfast Tea)
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • Honey, sugar, or your favorite sweetener to taste
In a medium size bowl, combine the hot tea with the blackberries. Let steep for 1 hour.
After steeping, crush the berries in the tea using the back of a large spoon (wooden spoons work well). Then pour mixture through a fine strainer into a medium-size pitcher. Add sweetener of choice and chill for 2 hours, then serve over ice.

Iced tea is so refreshing on a hot summer day! Do you enjoy drinking flavored iced teas?
