Spiced Apple Tea

This is a wonderful, delicious tea for fall! I found it several years ago in an old 2008 Gooseberry Patch appointment calendar. This honey-sweetened hot tea is flavored with apple juice and cinnamon. Just the thing to warm you up on a chilly autumn day!

SPICED APPLE TEA by Cottage Flavor, slightly adapted from Gooseberry Patch
Makes 4 to 6 servings
  • 3 cups water, heated to boiling
  • 5 Tablespoons honey
  • 3 cups unsweetened apple juice (or you can use sweetened apple juice and omit the honey)
  • apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and/or slices of fresh ginger root for garnish
Boil water in a medium saucepan. Reduce heat and steep tea bags in water for about 5 minutes. Discard tea bags, then add honey and apple juice to tea. Simmer until heated through. Pour tea into 4 mugs or teacups and garnish each cup with an apple slice, cinnamon stick and/or slice of fresh ginger root. Serve immediately.
