Dreaming of Spring

All the cold weather we're having makes me really appreciate the coming of spring! It won't come soon enough for me! But until it does, there are ways to add fresh, subtle touches of spring to our homes as we look forward to the milder weather. The soft pastel colors of springtime look so well with fresh, clean winter white accents and other soft neutrals. Here is some inspiration I came across recently...

From Welcome To My World, a room as fresh as spring with soft pinks, greens, and yellows. Touches of white in the bed linens, iron bed, and wicker corner table brighten the room even more. And the sweet wall arrangement of mirrors is such a creative way to add even more to the light, airy feel of the room.

More pretty pastels and subtle patterns, seen on Maria Edith, add just the right amount of color and interest against the winter white furnishings. Adding color with pillows and throws is an easy, inexpensive way to change up your decor and keep it fresh as the different seasons come and go.

Special little touches like a soft blue teacup and saucer on a spring green night stand add a restful, calming touch to a bedroom. The soft yellow painted flower pot (to the right in the photo) is a pretty touch, too. From All Things Shabby and Beautiful.

You can add touches of spring color with other small decor items and even fresh or dried flowers. I love the look of this stack of vintage books tied together with a pretty pastel ribbon–and the beautiful hydrangeas next to it! From Inspiring and Dreamy.

Pastel-painted furniture adds a wonderful touch to a room too, from Deep Dream. And when spring finally does arrive, blooming branches look lovely arranged in vintage jars and bottles on your dining room table.

What special ways do you like to add a touch of springtime to your home?
