I've always dreamed of having a cottage on the coast. The thought of being near the relaxing sounds of ocean waves and going shelling on a sandy beach would be like a little touch of heaven on earth for me! I recently read about a coastal cottage in Nantucket at CountryLiving.com, and here are some of my favorite images of the cottage (all photos shown are from CountryLiving.com).
Decorating with shells is something I enjoy doing, and these shells look great arranged on a rustic blue trunk with vintage bottles and a Shaker box.
I love all the light in this dining room. And the Windsor-style chairs paired with the inviting antique farm table are perfect for this coastal cottage!
The cottage kitchen is said to have a wonderful view of the harbor. The white cabinets, walls, and painted floor open up this smaller area where the unique vintage stove is ready to heat up some hot water for tea.
Blue and white are great colors for a bedroom...so relaxing and refreshing! The white walls make it light and airy and the white wrought-iron beds add a quaint, rustic touch. Soothing shades of blue are found in the lamp table and stool, vintage Pinwheel and Bear's Paw quilts, and handwoven rag rug.
The small but cozy guest room, formerly a pantry, is also decorated in blue and white and has a wonderfully designed built-in bed. Simple pillows and a scalloped-edge quilt adorn the bed and make it look so inviting and comfy!
The are more photos and information about this cottage at CountryLiving.com, so you'll have to take some time to visit there when you get a chance! It was a relaxing break just looking at the photos of this quaint, wonderfully decorated home!
